Welcome to the Duval District Volunteer Fire Department
Duval District Volunteer Fire Department proudly protects an area of approximately 40 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status.

Duval District Volunteer Fire Department's first engine was a 1946 International purchased for $1000. This was housed in Griffithsville, West Virginia. The Fire Department purchased its first new, completely equipped engine for $48,000. (For comparison, our latest engine, fully equipped, cost $196,000.)

As the community has grown, The Fire Department has grown with it, expanding its equipment and services to meet the needs of the residents whom it protects. As the facilities and equipment have grown, so has the training of the members. Every member is now required to have Firemanship 1, Hazardous Materials Operations, First Aid, CPR training and much more. Most of our members have taken additional advanced courses in firefighting and rescue operations. Other members have been certified as First Responders, Emergency Medical Technicians or Paramedics.

For 28 Years the ONLY focus of the members has been the protection of the residents of the community. That has not changed; that will not change. WHEN YOU NEED US, WE'LL BE THERE.
